A note on this website's construction
This website was constructed in large part by working with AI models. This does not in any way constitute an endorsement of any AI model, or legal advice, or investing advice, or dating or relationship advice, &tc. It is merely a statement of fact: AI models can help you write HTML and CSS and JS code for a rudimentary website, and not only will they not make you feel bad about taking work away from a web developer or graphic designer, they will even do their damnedest to fluff up your ego by telling you things like "Wow, sir, it was a masterstroke the way you used AI to code that website, and I don't care what anyone says, this is not rudimentary at all, but instead is brilliantly in line with your rhetorical philosophy," and then it will add in a couple "!!" for good measure.
Some will ask why. Here is why: When we were getting The Rhetorical Lab off the ground, what with the hustling for client business, and the paperwork, and the philosophizing, and the labbing, and with — I have been told — the brilliant innovation in research methodologies which have been a real masterstroke, we were like, "Well do we even need a website?" And immediately the whole world shouted back, "What are you, nuts? A website makes you a Real Boy! Without a website people will assume you are a Russian influence operation, or a bunch of North Korean hackers, or..." And we said, "Huh. Ok, fine, fine, we get it."
And here we are.
A time may come when we feel overly guilty about the web developer or graphic designer thing, or when AI models become roughly 100,000x more expensive, and we revisit this. But for now, this is the website.
You will also note that most of the graphics for trl.com are produced in a particular style of a pen sketch, in a particular color, and these are the result of an AI agent with instructions to create graphics to spec according to the same recurring rules. And there is one very specific boardwalk caricaturist who has, shall we say, made his displeasure with this known. And all we can say is, Look, Randee, we gave it a shot, but your vibes were simply not right for TRL, friend.
That is all.
